Tax Attorney Rebecca Schmutter Joins Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP

Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP welcomes Rebecca Schmutter to the firm’s Business & Real Estate Taxation Practice Group as a Partner.

Rebecca counsels corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals on a wide range of domestic and international tax matters. In particular, Rebecca helps her clients navigate complex income tax issues arising from sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, personal and business investments and financings. She also advises clients with respect to non-income tax matters, including New York State and city sales tax and real estate transfer tax. In addition, Rebecca has formed and dissolved New York not-for-profit corporations, and she regularly provides tax advice to not-for-profit clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Rebecca had been Counsel at Farrell Fritz, P.C. in Uniondale and Pryor Cashman LLP in New York City. Rebecca received her J.D. from Columbia University Law School in 2007, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and her B.A. from Columbia College, Columbia University in 2004. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
