Meltzer Lippe is pleased to announce that Sami B. Groff has joined the firm as a Partner and will Chair our newly formed Environmental Practice Group.

Having practiced environmental law for 22 years at Schulte Roth & Zabel, Ms. Groff has a vast level of experience representing and advising lenders, buyers and sellers on environmental issues in business and real estate finance and securitization transactions and representing insurers in environmental insurance coverage litigation.

Sami also represents clients in regulatory compliance and enforcement disputes, including representing businesses in negotiating cleanup obligations and litigating a Clean Air Act New Source Review enforcement action brought in federal district court by the U.S. Dept. of Justice on behalf of the EPA.
Ms. Groff has extensive experience advising parties on environmental issues in pro bono matters, for which she has been honored with the New York State Bar Association’s Empire State Counsel Honoree, including work with nonprofit organizations on New York City’s lead laws. She also writes and lectures on her areas of expertise. “Sami adds another layer of expertise to our already prolific real estate transaction and financing practice and our M&A practice” stated Managing Partner, David Heymann.
