Raj Grewal is an Associate in the firm’s Business & Real Estate Taxation Practice Group. Raj’s practice involves advising clients on a broad range of tax and real estate matters, such as partnership tax, S corporations, tax-efficient reorganizations, gift and estate tax, international tax, state and local apportionment, opportunity zones, 1031 like-kind exchanges, and real estate transfer tax.

Prior to joining the firm, Raj was a tax Associate at the boutique law firm Muchnick, Golieb & Golieb. Before working at Muchnick, Raj was in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs. In April, 2023, Raj was selected to serve on the State and Local Taxation Committee of the New York City Bar Association.

Raj was born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in Denver, Colorado. He is an avid skier and hiker and loves the outdoors. In his spare time, Raj plays the tabla drums, a classical Indian percussion instrument. He enjoys visiting museums and attending musicals, plays and other culture events in New York City. He also occasionally performs stand-up comedy routines, including two shows at the famed Gotham Comedy Club in Chelsea.
