Bio

Daniel F. Carrascal is an Associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Danny brings a wealth of practical and substantive experience in traditional labor law as well employment litigation.  Prior to joining Meltzer Lippe, Danny worked at a labor and employment firm where he primarily focused on the defense of wage and hour allegations and discrimination claims. Danny has also advised business owners and human resources professionals in drafting employee handbooks and employment-related documents and agreements.  Danny has extensive experience in presenting sexual harassment prevention training mandated by New York State and City to employees and managers in English and Spanish.

During law school, Danny was an Associate Editor for the Hofstra Law Review and was awarded the Samuel M. Kaynard Memorial Summer Fellowship in Labor and Employment Law, which gave him the opportunity to complete an internship at the Manhattan office (“Region 2”) of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Danny also completed a semester-long externship at the national headquarters of the NLRB in Washington, D.C.

Prior to embarking on his legal career, Danny completed a Master of Science degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University and worked in the restaurant/hospitality industry in Miami, Florida for over ten years. This work allowed him to acquire knowledge and practical experience in labor and employment matters related to wage and hour law, discrimination, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, OSHA and other employment laws and regulations.

Danny is Cuban-American and originally from Miami, Florida. He is a loyal Miami Dolphins fan and also enjoys classical music, traveling, fishing, and cooking.
