Bio

Steven E. Frankel is Counsel to the firm’s Litigation, Crisis Management, Investigations & Constitutional Law and Social Media, Software & Privacy Practice Groups. Steve has a broad experience in all phases of dispute resolution and commercial litigation and has represented corporations, hedge funds, partnerships and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in both federal and state courts in a wide variety of matters. Steve’s experience includes cases involving claims for breach of contract, fraud, trademark infringement, partnership disputes, breach of fiduciary duties and labor and employment-related disputes.

In addition, Steve advises clients concerning website and social media-related issues, including website terms and conditions, rights to domain names and email accounts and intellectual property disputes.

Steve started his career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP where he co-authored with Jonathan K. Youngwood a chapter titled “Due Diligence as a Litigation Defense” in the Practicing Law Institute’s handbook: Conducting Due Diligence 2006 and subsequently practiced at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP and Westerman Ball Ederer Miller Zucker & Sharfstein, LLP.

Steve graduated cum laude from Yeshiva University with a degree in economics. He received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a Senior Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. After law school, he served as a law clerk to The Honorable Stanley R. Chesler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Steve and his wife Jennifer were both raised on Long Island and currently live in West Hempstead with their children Jason, Joshua, and Atara. Steve is an avid fan of classic rock, the New York Giants, Islanders, and Mets.
