Mark Mustian is Counsel in the firm’s Environmental Practice Group. Mark has over 30 years of experience in handling environmental issues, both as an attorney and as a practicing engineer. Mark has experience in all aspects of environmental compliance, in all media, from permitting to emergency response to litigation to environmental due diligence on the purchase and sale of properties and industrial manufacturing facilities. Mark has represented clients in federal and state court for litigation on issues under the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, CERCLA and state waste laws.
Mark has published a chapter on the Legal and Regulatory Frameworks for Bioremediation in a bioremediation book published by the American Society for Microbiology.
Prior to joining the firm, Mark was Environmental Counsel for United States Steel Corporation. Mark was also an associate at Reed Smith LLP and K&L Gates LLP. In his previous career, Mark worked as engineer and consultant and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
Mark earned his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law, where he was on Law Review. Mark also has a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
