Maria Criscuolo is an Associate in the Firm’s Construction Law Practice Group. Maria counsels various clients in the construction industry, including subcontractors, general contractors, material suppliers, and owners, on issues ranging from contract review to lien actions. Prior to joining Meltzer Lippe, Maria served as a legal intern in the corporate office of Turner Construction Company. At Turner, Maria assisted in various legal aspects and compliance issues in support of Turner’s operations, such as contract review, filing bond applications to discharge mechanic’s liens, and sending notices regarding labor and delays.
Maria received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor on the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and participated in the New York State Pro Bono Scholar’s Program where she completed over five hundred hours of pro bono work in Queens County Civil Court during her last semester of law school. Maria also served as a legal intern for the Mediation Unit at the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Maria earned her B.A. in political Science from Adelphi University.
In her spare time, Maria enjoys traveling and playing tennis. She is fluent in Polish and conversational in Italian. Maria is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the Construction Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
